Dr. Lin Gao Hermenitt has worked in the field of education for more than 20 years, from teaching undergraduate students in Applied Chemistry at Tianjin University of Science and Technology, to working for a number of Fortune 500 companies such as Motorola and Corning to be responsible for leadership training, organizational development in Greater China and talent management in Asia Pacific. During this time, she was also appointed as an MBA career coach at Shanghai Jiaotong University and East China University of Science and Technology, where she provided career planning and guidance to MBA students.
Dr. Hermenitt pioneered the Youth Individual Development Planning Model (YIDP) based on Individualized Development in 2015, which helps each student create a competitive advantage from scratch by discovering the student's talents and strengths, building a unique competitive advantage model for each student, and at the same time allocating top U.S. resources. Not only does it help students succeed in their U.S. undergraduate applications, but it also provides direction for their future career development.
Dr. Hermenitt regularly attends the National Association for College Admission (NACAC), the Higher Education Counseling Conference of America (HECA) and the Independent Educational Consultants of America (IECA) conferences where she meets many college admissions officers and has established deep trust and friendships. She not only understands the latest admissions policies of different colleges and universities, and the difficulty of applying to different majors, but also discusses and analyzes with admissions officers the possibility of accepting each Blue Torch student, so as to help each student make precise judgments on their applications.
At the same time, Dr. Hermenitt also participates in top boarding junior and high school admissions conferences in the U.S. and Canada, and is invited to visit U.S. junior high schools and U.S. high schools several times a year. During her visits to the schools, she talks with current students to learn more about their real-life experiences at the schools, so she can better help families who are planning to apply to U.S. junior high schools and U.S. high schools make the best choices.
Due to Dr. Hermenitt's extensive knowledge of U.S. college applications and unique insight into high school planning, in 2021 shewas invited to conduct three trainings for the entire college guidance department of Interlochen Arts Academy, the top-ranked arts boarding high school in the U.S., in order to help them be able to better guide the students of the school through college in the context of the epidemic.
As an educator, Dr. Hermenitt treats every student as if he or she were her own, and takes the realization of her students' dreams as the embodiment of her life's value, and has truly achieved the motto of “the silkworm will not be exhausted until it dies, and the wax torch will not dry up until it turns to ashes.”
In 2023 Dr. Hermenitt Co-founded and is the CEO of a sister company in Shenzhen, China. Blue Torch Shenzhen has a local team of experts who represent Blue Torch's values and extend the promise of an American education to Chinese students.
